Somethings are worth the remembering...

The lesson in Sunday school was about Jesus' life, and things he did. The last video we had watched was about the garden, cross, and tomb. So this lesson was perfect for out RS lesson today. We were talking about the sacrament. She asked how we prepared our selves to take it. I personally listen to the children's primary songs as I am getting ready. I try and not really listen to anything on the way there so I don't walk into church with a worldly spirit. During the prayers I repeat the words in my head. Ill read a talk on something that I have been thinking about, just think it looks interesting. I try not to write in my journal, be on my phone or iPad. Just think of things to be respectful to my savoir. As I sat there thinking about his life, and what he has done for not just me but for everyone. I had flash backs to when I was there. Standing in the tomb, looking up at Golgotha,  or looking over the fence into the garden. How did I feel? What was the spirit like while I was there? I went to Israel in January 2005. I was a Junior in HS, had just turned 17.  I got to go with the Private school I was attending at the time.

While I was there we got to visit a lot of different sites. I could feel the spirit everywhere we went. When we were at the Garden There was only a couple of trees left. It was right off the road and there was a huge church built right next to it. There was an apostle that said that this place was where the atonement happened. That he could feel the spirit so strong and it testified to him that the blood for every living being was shed right there. I grew up in the church and I know the story of the garden well. I just never really understood that he bleed from every pore, for every ones sins till then. How did he go threw all that pain. I once heard that when you go to the Dr, and they have to prick your finger to test your blood, that pain you feel, that's how it felt to bleed from just one pore. Think about how it would feel all over your body. Just makes me cringe.

I always thought that Golgotha, and The Tomb were far apart and outside of the city. I was wrong. The are right next to each, in the middle of town. We saw where he was beaten, mocked, spit on, and everything and then we walked not that far to the tomb. As we enter this garden, full of flowers, trees, and quietness, we were lead to the back corner. as we stood there, the tour guide was telling us about this area we were at. he had as face this cliff like thing and explained why it was called Golgotha. Back in the day it looked like a skull in the side of the cliff. On top of bluff, was were the 3 crosses were. They over looked the city. It was so people could see those that were up there. As I looked at this, my heart just ached. That is were my savoir gave up his life.

The tour guide then said to us look to your left. There was a hole in the side of the rock. There is the tomb that Jesus was laid for 3 days. This is were I realized that I was in the spot where he died, for me. Where he was laid down to rest. This is the place. The spirit was so strong and testified that he will be back one day.
