The house that built me.

Pulling into the drive way and running straight to the bathroom.
Having an Almond fight with Tori
Watching Matt and Kyle put wood Flooring in the kitchen
Matt and I putting holes in the walls, or broke my bedroom door from fighting
Boys coming to see me while my parents were gone
Sitting in a doll buggy getting pushed down the hallway and getting freaked out that something might get me
Laying in bed watching the hallway for a Gorilla to take my parents.
Looking up at the ceiling and trying to make out figures in the stoco
Laying on the floor under the many quilts that my mom had up in the dining room.
Many meals around the diner table
Walking out of my room to flowers or balloons in the living room for some holiday.
Waiting till Mom and Dad had typed the living room on Christmas morning to see what Santa had brought us
Learning to cook
Laying in front of the fire place trying to get warm
Family Scripture study and prayers before school in the mornings
Looking in my parents room and seeing them saying their daily prayers
Painting and Bed room Bright Green with Ellen
Re-doing my mom's bathroom for Young Womans
The only place I wanted to be when I was depressed
Crying my eyes out over break ups

The house that built me.
The house that was my home.
The house that my future children wont  be able to see
The house that I call my home anymore.

On Friday night the chimney of my childhood home caught on fire.
The fire went through the attic.
The ceiling came down and there was smoke damage in the other rooms
My parents are fine
They were in Utah when it happened
I think out of everyone this had effected me the most
Many tears, sobs, and hours of sleep lost.

My home is gone and who knows where my parents will end up.
They have put their trust in the Lord and they are doing great

  1. I'm so sorry Megann. How sad. In glad no one was hurt but that doesn't make the loss any easier. I'd be a basket case if this happened to my childhood home.
